What best describes your role in journalism?

I'm a witness to history on a daily basis. I believe that the power of the visual image is an awesome responsibility that needs to be done right every time for the readers benefit. A friend once told me "Eric, if you learn to shoot with your heart you'll move peoples souls" That is my mission in photo and video journalism.

Biography

Graduated from the University of Missouri-School of Journalism in 1993.
Have worked at two newspapers including the Detroit Free Press since 1999 where I'm a photo and video journalist.
I started shooting video with a Panasonic hvx-200 in May of 2008.
