CampVJ adds two more instructors to lead the classes.

Danielle Guerra and Mark Scheffler will join Robb Montgomery in leading the video discussion topcs and help out students with their cameras and videos.

Danielle is prolific full-time video journalist working at the Northwest Herald in the Chicago suburbs and Mark is a local freelance VJ who files reports for Crain's Chicago Business and his own company businesspov.com

The training will now be even better - consider yourself upgraded!

Hotel deals

You may find a good deal on a Chicago Loop hotel by following this link:

Camp VJ students have, in the past, been able to find reasonable digs close to the venue. The weather should be nice in Chicago in September but at most you will have a short cab ride back and forth.Students are encouraged to walk it because you will be going out shooting every day and walking gives you a chance to gather story ideas and seek out potential topics and subjects for your video project.

FAQ
Reminder to be sure to bring a system that works - test it before the first day. Sometimes people arrive with a kit that was "promised to work" by an IT manager or colleague only to find out that they are missing a cable or that their software doesn't support their camera. Just verify that you can import footage into your system and you will be OK.

I have filed a FAQ on the http://campvj.com page that can offer more detail about cameras, editing software and more.

If you have any additional questions do not hesitate to ask. The class size will be between 10 and 15 people and we will likely be using a few different training rooms at the Sun-Times - so be sure your kit is portable.

See you soon in Chicago.
